Lift Recliners, designed to assist people to a standing position from sitting position, are known by many different names, but the most common are Lift Recliners, Lift Chairs and Chair Lifts. They exclusively have a recline and lift mechanism containing a motor, or in some cases two motors, that not only moves the chair up or down but also reclines the back and raises the footrest.
When you want to recline or move out, all you need to do is simply push a button and the motor/motors move the chair into a standing position, so that you can simply walk out. They are especially beneficial for caregivers as they provide the lifting action to move the patient from sitting to standing position.
On the basis of the position these are classified as:
Two Position Lift Recline: - It can recline to approximately 45degree angle i.e. it can recline to any position up to that point. It has only one button on control.
Three Position Lift Recline: - It can recline to a nearly flat position as well as every position in between. Here the ottoman and the back operate together, as the back reclines the footrest comes up. It also has only one button on the control.
Infinite Position Lift Recline:- It looks and works quite similar to the 3 Position chair, here however, the back is independent of the foot rest. It has 2 motors as against 2 and 3 Position Reclines, which has only one. Also, they have two buttons on the control, one for the back and one for the foot rest.
