For any furniture to be perfect, the materials which are used to build it up are of prime importance. As far as the Lazyboy Recliners are concerned, there are a few necessities which are required to be fulfilled in order to have the best of recliners.
- It should be light weight but durable
- Comfortable yet elegant
- Hardwood frames should support the recliner
- Frames to be held in place by springs made of best metal
- High quality foam to provide that soft cushiony feel
- Best materials to be used as recliner covers
Although all of these requirements equally contribute to the elegance of the recliner, the thing which is of prime importance is the material by which the actual recliner is made i.e. what is visible to the naked eye. These materials may vary from Leather to Polyester to Suede.
Leather is a material created through the tanning of hides and skin of animal. Tanning process converts the raw skin into a durable, long lasting and versatile natural material which can be brought into several uses.
Full Grain Leather, made of the finest raw material, remains in its natural state thereby allowing the best fiber strength, resulting in great durability. The natural grain also has great breathability, resulting in great comfort for clothing. Some of the finest and best leather furniture is made from Full-Grain Leather.
Polyester is the most widely used manufactured fiber. Woven polyester fabrics are used for apparel and home furnishings. Polyester fiberfill is also used to stuff pillows, comforters and cushion padding. Polyester fabrics sometimes have a less natural feel as compared to similarly woven fabrics like cotton. However, polyester fabrics have other improved advantage like improved wrinkle resistance and are thus often spun together with natural fibers.
Suede is also a type of leather with napped finish. Suede leather is primarily made from the under side skin of lamb or goat. Although it is less durable, it is softer than standard leather. It’s softness, thinness and pliability make it suitable for clothing and delicate uses. Due to its textured nature and open pores, suede may become dirty and absorb liquids quickly. Thus, suede needs a little extra maintenance. Modern tanning improvements have made waterproof and stain-proof suede leather available which makes it top the list of materials used for furniture clothing. |
